Accounting

Accounting is a set of technical steps and methods that can be followed to record and classify data and inputs. It also includes processes that explain changes in economic events and financial information that managers, investors, and tax authorities use to make their decisions. It is a science concerned with measuring and explaining financial activities, by disclosing the available financial information through their preparation in lists for specific periods of time, often quarterly, so accounting is called the language of business.

The first and last goal of accounting is to provide all the financial information that any company or institution needs, and the most important information it provides:

  • Determining the results of economic activities (profit or loss) during a specific period of time.
  • Choosing the main financial position in the institution, as the sources from which funds can be obtained, and the methods of using these funds up to a certain date, are determined.
  • Recording of all operations carried out by the institution.
  • Monitor the financial operations that occur within the institution, especially cash transactions.
