Social Responsibility

Deraya University places a strong emphasis on hands-on, practical learning through partnerships with non-profits, government organizations, and volunteer efforts. Its Social Responsibility program provides resources and support to facilitate collaboration between students, faculty, and staff with external partners to serve communities in meaningful ways.

Deraya empowers you to make a difference in the world around you by working to solve issues affecting our community.

Community Engagements

Medical Caravans

Deraya's Medical Caravans send faculty members and student volunteers to villages and centers across Upper Egypt to provide clinical examinations and initial diagnoses, free of charge. Cases that need further care are referred to the University Clinic, with transportation covered by the university. A recent caravan to Tahha village in Minya Governorate alone served 100 patients.

Educational Caravans

Every year, Deraya's Educational Caravans travel to governorates across Upper Egypt, reaching more than 1,500 high school students per day at each location with intensive exam-preparation sessions in core subjects, alongside adult literacy initiatives run by student and faculty volunteers.
