Organizes a Workshop on
Kinetic Control-Based Movement Solutions for Low Back Pain
Low back pain (LBP) is a common condition that affects a large portion of the population. It can cause significant disability, impairing an individual’s quality of life, and resulting in a significant economic burden. Physical therapy is an effective and non-invasive treatment for LBP, and Kinetic Control (KC) is an approach used by physical therapists to address movement dysfunction and LBP.
the College of Physical Therapy, Deraya University, in collaboration with the Egyptian Federation of Physiotherapy Students at Deraya University (EUPTS DERAYA) and the Prime Physio Educational Foundation, organized a workshop on “LOW BACK PAIN: A Kinetic Control Based Movement Solution.” The workshop aimed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the KC approach and its application in the management of Low Back Pain.
Workshop Details
The workshop was held at the Deraya University campus, and it was attended by a number of students, interns, members of the teaching staff, and the faculty’s assistants. The event was divided into two parts: theoretical and practical.
In the theoretical part, the speaker gave a comprehensive overview of the KC approach and its application in the management of LBP. He highlighted the importance of movement control and how KC addresses movement dysfunction by using specific exercises and movements that aim to enhance muscle control and coordination. The workshop also discussed the causes and risk factors of LBP, including poor posture, weak muscles, and faulty movement patterns.
In the practical part, the participants had the opportunity to apply the KC approach through hands-on activities and exercises. They were divided into small groups and assigned to different stations, where they learned and practiced specific exercises and movements that target the muscles and movement patterns related to LBP. The practical part was led by experienced physical therapists who provided individualized guidance and feedback to each participant.
Benefits of the Workshop
The workshop provided participants with a unique opportunity to learn about the KC approach and its application in the management of LBP. By attending the workshop, the participants gained the following benefits:
Enhanced understanding of LBP: The theoretical part of the workshop provided participants with an in-depth understanding of the causes and risk factors of LBP, enabling them to identify and address movement dysfunction related to LBP.
Improved knowledge of the Kinetic Control (KC) approach: The workshop provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the KC approach and how it can be used to address movement dysfunction and LBP. Participants learned about the specific exercises and movements used in KC, enabling them to apply the approach in their clinical practice.
Hands-on learning experience: The practical part of the workshop provided participants with a hands-on learning experience, allowing them to apply the KC approach through individualized guidance and feedback from experienced physical therapists.
Networking opportunity: The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to network with other physical therapy students, interns, and faculty members, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
The workshop on “LOW BACK PAIN: A Kinetic Control Based Movement Solution” organized by the internship Unit at the College of Physical Therapy, Deraya University, in collaboration with EUPTS DERAYA and the Prime Physio Educational Foundation, was a great success. The workshop provided participants with a unique opportunity to learn about the KC approach and its application in the management of LBP.
The theoretical and practical parts of the workshop were comprehensive and engaging, and the participants gained a deeper understanding of LBP and the KC approach. The workshop LOW BACK PAIN: A Kinetic Control-Based Movement Solution workshop is a great example of how collaboration between academic institutions, professional organizations, and industry partners can promote innovation and advance best practices in physiotherapy.
