The Fighters of Cancer unit at the College of Pharmacy was pleased to organize the First Conference under the title;
“To beat cancer..be a fighter of cancer.”
The Deputy Governor of Minya witnesses the first conference of “Fighters of Cancer ” at Deraya University The event urges students to participate in community activities. The event aimed to develop a community vision for combating cancer through several axes, including family awareness campaigns and student participation in field awareness campaigns to create a cancer-free society.
The conference was attended by Dr. Alaa Ashmawy, President of Deraya University, Dr. Mohamed Moustafa, Vice President of the University, Dr. Mohamed Nadi, Deputy Minister of Health in Minya, Dr. Mohamed Sarhan, Head of Minya Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Mustafa Abdel-Baqi, Head of Physical Therapy Doctors Syndicateو, Dr. Nourhan Hisham shady, supervisor Foc and Dr. Omnia Hesham co-supervisor
The conference activities included screening a documentary film about the family’s role in raising awareness of the dangers of cancer, how to deal with the disease’s consequences and symptoms, and the family’s effective role in reducing cancer infection rates, in addition to presenting the efforts and awareness campaigns for citizens.
For his part, the Deputy Governor praised the efforts of Deraya University in creating a new generation capable of effective participation and influence in all aspects of society through community participation and communication with the local community.
The event urged all categories of students to participate in all activities, which greatly affect the overall personality building in academics. To engage attendees and give them useful tools and cancer prevention methods, the conference included expert speakers, panel talks, and interactive activities. Additionally, it highlighted the significance of funding cancer research efforts and featured the most recent developments in the field.
Additionally, talks were given on topics like Early Symptoms and Detection of Cancer, Oncology Pharmacy, Physical Therapy for Breast Cancer, and Nutrition and Cancer. It was an excellent opportunity to network with like-minded professionals and stay up to date on market trends.
The Early Symptoms and Detection of Cancer
The Early Symptoms and detection of cancer topic took a great part in the speeches and discussions at the conference. A collection of illnesses known as cancer are characterized by the unchecked growth and division of abnormal cells. Early cancer detection is essential for effective therapy and better outcomes. The likelihood of early detection can be increased by prompting people to seek medical care and being aware of the early symptoms and signs of cancer.
The deputy governor urged all categories of students to participate in all activities, which have a significant impact on building the overall personality in academic life, and achieving the desired goals of these activities through practical applications and influencing the largest targeted group of citizens. The attendees also praised the involvement of students in medical and therapeutic convoys that roam villages and centers of the province, to have a direct impact on citizens and raise awareness of the dangers of disease and methods of maintaining public health.
Dr. Alaa Ashmawy, President of Daraya University, praised the fruitful cooperation between the university and the executive bodies in the province to maximize the benefit for various categories of citizens, by facilitating the dissemination of cultural and intellectual awareness to combat cancer. He pointed out that campaigns to raise awareness of the dangers of cancer contribute significantly to reducing the number of cases.
