Deraya University won second place in the under developed area development competition that was carried out to implement the presidential directives. The jury committees for this competition included representatives of   the prime Ministery, the Ministry of Planning, the Administrative monitering Authority, the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, and a number of experts from the Supreme Council of Universities and the Ministry of Higher Education.The results of the competition were announced during the monthly meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, which was held on Saturday, December 21, 2019.

Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the Minister of Higher Education, thanked the presidents of the winning universities in this competition, and awarded them the trophy  of excellence in appreciation of the efforts and outstanding performance in this field. the trophy was received by Prof. Dr. Emad Hamdi Ghaz – President of the University –

His Excellency also thanked the members of the  judging committees from all participating bodies for their efforts  and field visits to those universities.
