Field visits of Deraya University as part of the “شوف بنفسك” initiative

As part of the initiative to introduce university youth to national projects that the state has completed and established in various governorates, students from Deraya University in Minya conducted several field visits to different areas, including:

The National Cement Factory in Beni Suef
Egypt’s Digital Creativity Center, “Creativa”
Zewail City for Science and Technology
The Egyptian Company for Mining, Quarry Management, and Salines in Minya
The project to establish 500,000 housing units in Minya Governorate
West Cairo Air Base

Visit the National Cement Factory in Beni Suef

The students’ visit to the National Cement Factory in Beni Suef provided them with an opportunity to learn about the cement industry, its production process, and its applications in practical life, as well as many other benefits and features, such as:
Understanding industrial processes, cement production, and the equipment and machinery used in the process.

The students learned about environmental conservation and occupational safety techniques followed in the production process and how to apply them at work sites. Providing an opportunity to interact with experts and specialists in the field and learn about job market requirements and employment opportunities in this area.

Raising awareness of the importance of the industry in the local economy and the role it plays in supporting sustainable development and creating job opportunities. Enhancing self-motivation, improving self-confidence, and the ability to think creatively in solving complex problems in the industry.

Egypt’s Digital Creativity Center, “Creativa”, is affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and includes 3 entities:

Information Technology Institute (ITI)
National Telecommunications Institute (NTI)
Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC)
The visit provided benefits, including:

Providing an opportunity to learn about the latest digital technologies and their applications in practical life. Encouraging students to develop their innovation and creativity skills by experiencing creative and training activities at the center. Raising awareness of the importance of information and communication technologies in society and at work. Expanding the network of relationships and connections through interaction with experts and specialists in the digital field.

The students’ visit to Zewail City for Science and Technology provided them with an opportunity to learn about the latest scientific technologies and their applications in practical life, with numerous benefits, such as:

Understanding modern science and technologies used in various fields, including medicine, industry, technology, electronics, and energy. Students also learned about scientific research and modern projects in various fields and how to apply them in practical life. The visit provided an opportunity for students to learn about modern technologies in renewable energy and environmental conservation. It also played a role in raising awareness of the importance of scientific research in improving the quality of life and serving the community.

The Egyptian Company for Mining, Quarry Management, and Salinities in Minya and the visit included raising awareness among university students about the projects implemented by the Egyptian state and the extent of their significant impact on the development of the state’s infrastructure and all sectors of the level of the Republic, and their reflection on society and the development of its members and raising the efficiency of local production and Egypt’s leadership externally in various fields.

One of the Deraya University field visits as part of the “شوف بنفسك” initiative organized by the Egyptian Armed Forces to introduce national and developmental projects to various state sectors was the visit to the project of constructing 500,000 housing units in Minya Governorate, as well as visiting the West Cairo Air Base, which provided students with the opportunity to learn about the latest military and air technologies and understand take-off and landing operations and maintenance of military aircraft and helicopters.

The students also got acquainted with the latest technologies and military equipment used in the field of aviation. The visit also contributed to providing an opportunity to interact with military officials and experts in the field, learn about the requirements of military work, and raise awareness of the importance of national security and the role played by the army in protecting the country. Finally, enhancing self-motivation improves self-confidence, and the ability to think creatively in solving complex problems in practical life.

In general, these field visits are a part of student activities, and such initiatives can help students achieve their educational and professional goals by providing an opportunity to learn, develop, and interact in various fields and sectors.
